EventBeacon automatically loads event and athlete data to your device whenever you open an event, so you're ready to recruit whether you have an internet connection or not. This is especially helpful at events with unreliable cell service or poor wifi connections!

Should I work offline?

It's up to you! If you anticipate having a very poor internet or data connection on site, we recommend opening your events in the app before you head out. This ensures your athlete and event data is already loaded on your device when you arrive. Working online ensures your app is always showing the most up-to-date information throughout the day, but offline mode gives you everything you need when a connection isn't available.

How do I sync my followed, watchlist, notes, and evaluations I took?

Followed athletes, game assignments, watchlist categorizations, notes, and evaluations taken while offline are stored on your device. Once your internet connection is restored, everything will sync automatically. If you want to sync immediately, just pull to refresh while connected to wifi. 

Tagging Functionality in Offline Mode:

While offline, you can apply or remove tags from your existing tag library. You cannot create, edit, or delete tag groups — if you attempt to tap the "Manage Tags" button while offline, an error message will appear. Once you're back online and your data syncs, all tag changes made by coaches across your program will be reflected automatically.

If there are roster or schedule changes, how do I get those updates?

Event information including roster and schedule changes refreshes automatically every 15–30 minutes when you're connected. If you need an update immediately, pull to refresh while connected and your data will update right away.

I'm offline. Why can't I see the game assignments or notes my other coaches made?

When your device is offline, it has no way of receiving new assignments, notes, or evaluations made by other coaches on your staff. As soon as you reconnect to the internet, everything will sync and you'll see the latest updates from your staff.
